A big attraction is the rodeo competitions for cumulative points throughout the event feature some of the best talent in North America vying for prize money in bareback, bull riding, ladies' barrel racing, saddle bronco, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, wild pony racing and more.

For ten exhilarating days, the Old West comes alive with a city wide celebration of true western hospitality and rousing fun! From the world famous, ground shaking, Chuck wagon Races to the richest eight seconds in Rodeo to the spectacular evening Grand show extravaganza, the Calgary Stampede offers a non-stop action that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. The high steppin' two hour parade kicks off to the streets with a burst of energy, color and music.The top professional cowboys compete in a myriad of rodeo events, including bull riding, roping, bareback riding, steer wrestling and barrel racing. Join in on pancake breakfasts, square dancing, the hair-raising rush of the midway, authentic Indian Village, re-created frontier town, gambling hall and dazzling fireworks.

Itinerary

Day 1: After arriving independently in Calgary, transfer independently to your hotel for a three-night stay (there are shuttle buses which run regularly from Calgary airport approx 30 mins) The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure exploring the world class city if Calgary.

Day 2 & 3 In the next two days. Included are one afternoon ticket to a rodeo with gate admission, and one evening ticket to the Chuckwagon races and Grandstand show, with gate admission, as well as a sky ride over Stampede Park. To complete your experience of the Calgary Stampede, your holiday includes souvenir Rodeo and Grandstand Show programmes and a custom-made embroidered Calgary Stampede Golf shirt.

Rodeo
On the afternoon of day two the best of the best saddle up for a three hour ground shaking showcase of world class rodeo action. There are Saddle Bronco and Bareback riding events followed by the most dangerous event of all - Bull Riding.

Rangeland Derby
On the evening of Day 3, nine heart - stopping Chuckwagon races explode in an all out dash for the finish line . Chuckwagon racing is an amazing contest of nerves and horsepower - a challenge that ignites thousands of fans.

Grandstand Show
Following the Rangeland Derby is the outdoor stage spectacular. For 2 hours, you will be dazzled by the lavishly produced and choreographed non-stop musical variety grandstand show.

Day 4 This is your day of departure. Enjoy a final morning in the Stampede City before transferring independently to the airport or picking up your RV or car if you are continuing your tailormade holiday.
